How Clockspot works
Follow a workday from employee clock-in through manager review, timesheet approval, reports, and payroll export so you can see how Clockspot's parts fit together.
Clockspot is a time clock for hourly employees. Employees clock in and out, those punches become timesheets, managers approve them, and the approved hours feed reports you use for payroll. This page is the map; each piece links to its own page.
Clocking in and out
Employees record time three ways — on the web Time Clock page, at a shared kiosk, or by phone. Each clock-in becomes a time entry with the in/out times and, if your workspace uses them, a job and notes.
Timesheets and approval
Time entries roll up into a timesheet for each pay period, which the employee submits and a manager reviews and approves. If an employee spots a mistake, they request an edit and the manager decides — the record stays accurate either way.
Work to finish and workplace updates
Inbox brings together urgent manager reviews, manager follow-up, each employee's own unfinished work, and notification history. The views change with the signed-in person's access.
Team Updates keeps workplace news and instructions in a shared feed. Managers can send an update immediately, show it after a matching clock-in, or do both. Employees can confirm required updates from Team Updates, Inbox, or a matching clock-in prompt.
Time off
Employees request time off; managers approve it. Balances grow on their own from the time off types you define — see how accruals work.
Reports and payroll
Reports is the directory for time, payroll and costing, operations, Work Site, and clock-verification reports. Start with Payroll Summary when a period is approved and you need numbers to export — see Running payroll.
Who does what
Employee status and administrative access are separate. A person can count as an Employee, have Administrator or Owner access, have both, or have neither. Access explains the difference.
