Can electricians switch jobs when the workday moves to another site?
Yes. An employee can choose a Clockspot job before clocking in and select a different job while still clocked in when the work changes. The job stays with the relevant time segment and appears in the Job Hours report. Clockspot does not dispatch the employee or create a work order.
Does Clockspot continuously track an electrician’s location or route?
No. When an electrician clocks in or out from a browser and shares location, Clockspot can attach GPS evidence to that clock event. It does not follow the employee between sites, draw breadcrumb trails, or optimize routes. Employees can separately record a work trip’s distance, purpose, origin, destination, and optional job or work site for manager review.
What can electrical employees use to clock in?
Employees can clock in from a web browser on a phone or computer, use a shared browser kiosk with a personal PIN, or call Clockspot from an authorized cell phone or landline. Clockspot is preparing a native iPhone app for existing customers, but it is not available yet. Android does not currently have a native app. Browser clocking requires internet access, and the planned iPhone app will too.
Can an electrician correct a missed clock-out or the wrong job?
Yes. An employee can request a time, job, note, or break correction with a reason. An administrator compares the recorded and requested values before approving or rejecting the change, and the entry history keeps the correction context.
How does Clockspot help review electrician overtime?
Clockspot classifies recorded hours using the overtime rules your company saves and shows those hours in timesheets and reports for review. It does not forecast labor, send approaching-overtime alerts, decide crew coverage, or provide legal advice.
Does Clockspot track apprenticeship hours, licenses, or qualifications?
Clockspot can record accepted license, certification, and qualification dates on employee profiles and require them for a Work Type, Job, or Work Site. It checks each employee’s record for the shift date, warns about missing or expired requirements, and records any manager override in schedule history. Keep apprenticeship hour records, supporting evidence, and external verification in the systems built for those jobs.
Does Clockspot replace electrical dispatch or project software?
No. Clockspot focuses on employee time and the payroll-side review. Keep customers, dispatch, work orders, projects, permits, inspections, estimates, change orders, materials, job costing, invoices, and payments in the systems that run your electrical operation.
