How manager access works

Decide who tracks time, who manages employee time, and which employees each manager can access.

Employee status
Count as an employee
Allow clocking in and out

Let managers track their own time without changing who they can manage

Employee status controls schedules, timesheets, time off, and clocking. It does not grant administrative access.

Delegate employee time while Owners keep access and billing

Administrators handle everyday employee records and time. Owners keep billing, Owner access, and the controls that change who can administer the company.

Common questions

Know exactly what each manager can see and change.

  • Everyone or assigned employees
  • Owners always see everyone
  • Employee status stays separate
Can an Administrator manage only selected employees?

Yes. An Owner can choose Assigned employees and select the exact Employees that Administrator can view and manage. Choosing Everyone includes every current Employee and any Employee added later.

Can a manager also clock in and out?

Yes. Employee status and administrative access are separate. Count the person as an Employee and allow clocking when they need their own schedule, timesheet, or time off; their Administrator access remains unchanged.

What can an Administrator do for assigned employees?

Their assigned-employee boundary follows employee profiles, schedules, time records, approvals, time off, reports, exports, Who's Working, and employee kiosk or phone-clock credentials.

What stays under Owner control?

Owners always have access to every Employee. Only Owners can change access levels, archive people, manage other Owners, and manage billing. Company-wide actions that cannot be limited to an existing employee assignment also stay unavailable to an Assigned employees Administrator.
