Payroll Summary

The Payroll Summary adds up the period for every employee.

By employeeAug 10 to Aug 16
Maria Acosta40h 0m$1,040.00
Ana Ramos36h 15m$942.50
Sergio Romero42h 30m$1,137.50

Each row shows the hours, overtime, and pay for one employee

Straight time, overtime premium, time off, and gross pay sit in the same row, so one screen shows the finished period for everyone. Pay appears once an employee has a rate on file, so a blank figure means a missing rate rather than a wrong number.

Sergio Romero42h 30m paid work$1,137.50
Regular40h 0m at $26.00$1,040.00
Overtime2h 30m at $26.00$65.00
Overtime premium2h 30m at 0.5x$32.50

Open a row to see the pay lines behind the total

Every total expands into the lines that made it, including the rate used and each overtime tier. Employees paid more than one rate show every rate that applied.

Paid time off is counted with worked hours

Time off carries its own pay category beside regular and overtime time, so the period reaches payroll complete instead of in two pieces.

Payroll Readiness

Find the records that would make payroll wrong while you can still fix them.

It catches the things that turn into a corrected paycheck later, like an employee still clocked in from Tuesday or someone whose pay rate was never set. The ones that would change what a person is paid come first. Each item names the employee and the day and opens the record, so a fix takes a minute.

Unmapped hours are flagged instead of dropped

Every Clockspot pay category maps to the code your provider expects. If a category has no code yet, the export warns you and names it rather than quietly leaving those hours out.

Common questions

What to know before you export employee time to payroll.

  • Review the source records
  • Choose report or provider file
  • Keep payroll processing separate
Does Clockspot run payroll?

No. Clockspot tracks employee time, helps managers review it, and creates payroll-ready reports and import files. Your payroll provider still calculates taxes, moves money, and submits payroll.

Why do these reports ask for whole workweeks?

Overtime is earned across a workweek, so a period that stops mid-week would split a week in half and understate it. Payroll Summary and Payroll Readiness both run on whole workweeks for that reason. Your pay period can still start and end wherever you like.

Can I export the report for an accountant or review packet?

Yes. Payroll Summary can be exported as CSV, Excel, or PDF. Those report exports are separate from the payroll-provider import file.

Which payroll import files can Clockspot create?

Create profiles for CSV, ADP RUN, Gusto Smart Import, Paychex Flex, SurePayroll, or QuickBooks Desktop IIF. Use your provider template or setup instructions as the final import check.

What if I use QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online uses a separate direct connection instead of a downloaded payroll file. Review the pay period in Clockspot, preview the Time Activities, and send the approved hours to your connected QuickBooks company.
