What can I ask ChatGPT to do in Clockspot?
Ask ChatGPT to check current clock-ins, explain report totals, find payroll-readiness blockers, review timesheets and edit requests, help with setup, and make permitted changes such as correcting a time entry or approving a timesheet. What it can read or change depends on your Clockspot role and the permissions granted to the connection.
Can ChatGPT change my Clockspot records?
Only through the write permissions granted to the connection and only when your Clockspot role allows the action. With read-only access, ChatGPT can answer questions but cannot change Clockspot. Actions that overwrite existing records are marked as higher risk so ChatGPT can ask you to confirm them.
Can ChatGPT explain why a Clockspot report shows a certain total?
Yes. ChatGPT can read the Clockspot report for the period and filters you asked about, explain what contributes to the total, identify records that need attention, and include a link to the same filtered report in Clockspot.
Where do I install the Clockspot plugin?
Open the Plugins tab in ChatGPT on the web or in the desktop app, search for Clockspot, open its listing, and select the plus button. Connect your Clockspot account when prompted, then start a new chat. Installation and use can depend on your ChatGPT plan, region, role, and workspace settings.
Do I need to type @Clockspot every time?
No. After installation, ask for the outcome you want and let ChatGPT choose the installed plugin. Type @Clockspot when you want to select it explicitly.
Do employees need ChatGPT to clock in?
No. Only a Clockspot account owner or admin can connect the plugin. Employees can keep clocking in through Clockspot from their own account, a shared kiosk, a cell phone, or a landline. The plugin does not replace the employee clock.
