Clock-in options

Give plumbers a clock-in method that fits the way the day starts.

Whether the first stop is the shop or a customer address, each method creates an employee time record the office can identify and review.

Clock in at the customer address with context attached.

A plumber chooses the service-call job in a web browser. When location is shared, GPS and device details stay with that clock event for later review.

When internet is unreliable, call in the punch.

An authorized cell phone or landline can record the employee, time, selected job, caller number, and voice check without browser location data.

Start the whole crew from one shop kiosk.

Plumbers and apprentices use personal PINs on a shared tablet or computer, so the office gets one consistent start-of-day record without dedicated hardware.

Service call to timesheet

Keep shop time, service calls, and corrections connected.

Clockspot gives the office one employee time record to review, so payroll does not have to rebuild the day from dispatch notes, texts, and memory.

Review the record, not the plumber’s route.

Clockspot keeps employee-selected jobs, notes, clock-event evidence, edits, and approval history. It does not continuously track travel or dispatch the next call.

A focused system boundary

Use Clockspot for employee time. Keep dispatch in your plumbing system.

That separation gives the office a clear payroll-side record without pretending a time clock can replace the tools that manage customers and field work.

Clockspot owns

The employee time record

  • Employee schedules and clock-ins
  • Service-call jobs, notes, and clock-event evidence
  • Breaks, corrections, overtime, and approvals
  • Job Hours and payroll export files

Field-service systems own

Customer and plumbing operations

  • Customer appointments and dispatch
  • Routes, vehicles, mileage, and work orders
  • Estimates, price books, parts, and inventory
  • Invoices, field payments, and job profitability

Common questions

See whether Clockspot fits your plumbing company’s timekeeping.

  • Clock from the shop or field
  • Keep service-call job context
  • Review every exception before payroll
Can plumbers track hours by service call or installation?

Yes. A Clockspot job can represent a service call, installation, shop task, parts run, training block, or another work category your company uses. The employee selects the job when clocking or switching work, and that context stays with the time entry and Job Hours report.

Does Clockspot continuously track a plumber’s location or route?

No. When a plumber clocks in or out from their browser and shares location, Clockspot can attach GPS evidence to that clock event. It does not follow the employee between calls, draw breadcrumb trails, optimize routes, or calculate mileage.

What can plumbers use to clock in?

Employees can clock in from a web browser on a phone or computer, use a shared browser kiosk with a PIN, or call Clockspot from an authorized cell phone or landline. Clockspot does not currently offer a native iPhone or Android app, and browser clocking requires internet access.

Can we correct a missed punch after an emergency call?

Yes. An employee can submit an edit request with the corrected time and a reason. An administrator reviews the recorded and requested values before accepting or rejecting the change, and the entry history keeps the correction context.

Does Clockspot decide which travel time is paid?

No. Your company sets its own timekeeping policy and decides which work categories employees should record. Clockspot can preserve employee-selected jobs and notes for review, but it does not automatically detect travel, classify compensable time, or provide legal advice.

Does Clockspot replace plumbing dispatch or field-service software?

No. Clockspot focuses on employee schedules, clock-ins, breaks, corrections, approvals, reports, and payroll exports. Keep customer appointments, dispatch, routes, work orders, estimates, inventory, invoices, and field payments in the systems that manage your plumbing operation.
