Connecting Clockspot to ChatGPT
Install Clockspot from ChatGPT's Plugins Directory, connect your Clockspot account, review access, and start asking about employee time.

Install Clockspot in ChatGPT
- Open Plugins in ChatGPT.
- Search for Clockspot and open its listing.
- Press the plus button to install the plugin.
- When ChatGPT prompts you to connect Clockspot, sign in to your Clockspot account and continue to the access review.
After installation, start a new conversation before asking ChatGPT to use Clockspot.
Connect your Clockspot account
The Clockspot connection screen shows the account and permissions ChatGPT is asking to use. If you belong to more than one Clockspot account, choose the account you want to connect.
If the wrong account is selected, cancel and restart the connection from ChatGPT.
Review permissions
Depending on the request, the permission screen may include:
- Account — company, employees, jobs, locations, and clock-in setup.
- Employees — roles, statuses, hire dates, invitations, jobs, and assignments.
- Time tracking — time entries, timesheet approvals, and edit requests.
- Time off — requests, entries, balances, types, and accrual rules.
- Pay rates — pay history, payroll reports, employee rates, or job rates.
- Rules — overtime rules, schedules, workweek start day, and rounding.
- Reports — available reports, results, filters, and downloads.
Only approve the connection if the account and permissions look right. If the screen says the connection is read-only, ChatGPT cannot edit Clockspot.
Ask ChatGPT about employee time
In a new conversation, ask for the outcome you want. For example:
- Who is clocked in right now?
- Why is payroll not ready?
- Which timesheets still need attention?
- What should I finish before employees use the kiosk?
You can ask directly and let ChatGPT choose the installed plugin, or type @Clockspot when you want to select it yourself.
Remove access
Open Clockspot from Plugins when you want to uninstall it. Removing the plugin does not necessarily disconnect its Clockspot connection, so manage that connection separately in ChatGPT when you no longer want it to use your account.
Common questions
- Can ChatGPT edit Clockspot?
Only if the connection asks for and receives edit permissions. If the screen says the connection is read-only, ChatGPT cannot edit Clockspot.
- Do I need to type @Clockspot every time?
No. You can ask for the outcome directly and let ChatGPT choose the installed plugin. Type @Clockspot when you want to select Clockspot explicitly.
