0:00Review requests in Inbox
Clockspot’s Inbox brings employee requests and time issues together, so you can review them and take action in one place.
0:08FIND INBOX
Let’s look at a manager’s Inbox. Open Inbox near the top of the menu on the left. Items appear as employees submit requests and work needs review.
0:17CHOOSE WHAT TO REVIEW
Start with the Needs action tab for urgent work. The Why now label explains what needs attention, such as an overdue review or a shift that starts soon. Review later shows requests and follow-up that are not currently urgent.
0:30OPEN A REQUEST
Let’s review a sample employee request. Open Review later. Diana has asked to correct her clock-out time from four p.m. to five p.m. Select the edit request beside her name. The request opens inside Inbox. Use the left and right arrows to move between items without returning to the list.
0:48CHECK THE CHANGE
Compare Original with Requested to see exactly what would change. Read the Employee reason to understand why Diana asked for the correction.
0:56APPROVE THE CORRECTION
After checking that the correction is right, select Approve change. Clockspot explains that the requested changes will replace the original time entry. You can add a reviewer note to explain your decision.
1:08SEE THE RESULT
Select Confirm approval. Clockspot applies the correction and saves your reviewer note with the request. For this request, Diana’s recorded time increases from eight hours to nine hours. When it shows Request approved, the completed request leaves the queue. If another item is waiting, Inbox opens it next.
1:27RECENT ALERTS
For recent alerts and workspace activity, open the Notifications tab at the top.
1:33READY TO REVIEW
As work comes in, use Inbox to find what needs attention, review the details, and resolve employee requests.

Inbox brings the work that needs your attention into one place. The views you see depend on what you can do in the workspace, so an employee, manager, and Owner may see different choices.

Numbers beside the view names show how many items are waiting. If you can review workspace time, Needs action opens first; otherwise My to-dos or Notifications opens first.

Needs action

Needs action is the manager queue for work that can block payroll, is overdue, has already started, or belongs to a shift that is underway or starting soon. The Why now label explains the urgency.

Use Search or All categories to narrow the queue. Items are grouped into Time & attendance, Schedule, Requests & approvals, Work proof, and Payroll.

Press the action on a row to review the item without leaving Inbox. Depending on the item, you can review a timesheet, edit request, time off request, schedule issue, checklist, clock-verification exception, time entry, or missing pay setup. When you finish an action, Inbox refreshes the queue and moves to the next item. Use Previous Inbox item and Next Inbox item when you want to move through the queue yourself.

Review later

Review later holds useful follow-up that is not currently urgent. It uses the same search, category filter, and in-Inbox review flow as Needs action.

Some review-only items offer Mark reviewed. Use it when you have checked the item and no other change is needed; it removes that occurrence from the queue. If the underlying issue changes or happens again, Clockspot can show it again as new work.

My to-dos

My to-dos is your personal work queue. It can include:

  • A rejected timesheet that needs correction and resubmission.
  • A published shift that needs your confirmation.
  • A checklist you were allowed to finish after clock-out.
  • A Team Update that requires you to confirm you read it.

Use the type filter to choose Timesheets, Shift confirmations, Checklists, or Team Updates. Press Correct timesheet, Confirm shift, Complete checklist, or Read update to finish the item in Inbox. After a successful action, the queue refreshes and advances to the next item.

Notifications

Notifications keeps your recent alerts and workspace activity. Open Notifications for the unread and read views, search, and bulk read-state controls.

Common questions

Why don't I see every Inbox view?

Inbox shows only the views your workspace access can use. For example, the manager queues require workspace time-review access, while My to-dos appears for employees with self-service access.

Why did an item disappear after I completed it?

Inbox refreshes after a successful action and removes work that is no longer waiting. It then opens the next item when one remains.

Where are notifications I already cleared?

Choose Notifications, then open Read. You can mark a notification unread if you want it back in the Unread view.
