Moving from Clockspot.app to the new Clockspot

Preview what will move from your clockspot.app account, see what starts fresh, and import your active setup into a new Clockspot workspace with a 30-day free trial.

- If your business uses clockspot.app, you can move to the new Clockspot without setting everything up again. Clockspot checks the active employees, jobs, clock locations, pay details, and time-off balances in your current account, shows you what will move and what will start fresh, and imports only when you approve. Your current account stays open the whole time, so you can take a look and decide later. Only the account owner can start the move. When your account is ready, a notice like this appears when you sign in. To start, open Billing from the menu on the left.

- At the bottom of the Billing page, the same notice has one more button. See what’s new opens a page about the new Clockspot and what is different. Choose See what would move to see your own account.

- Clockspot opens a private preview of your account. This page is read-only. Nothing has moved yet, and the link expires on its own after thirty minutes. The top shows which account this preview is for and that it is ready to import. If something must be fixed first, this badge shows it, and you cannot import until it is fixed. These four counts are the active employees, jobs, clock locations, and time-off types that will move. Below them, Review these settings lists what will change or start fresh. Here, a duplicate job name will include its job code so both jobs stay distinct, approved browsers will need approval again, and phone and kiosk PINs are reset for security.

- When you are ready, choose Import and start 30-day trial. Clockspot creates your new workspace, your company's account in the new Clockspot, from the active setup above. It signs you in and starts your free trial. Your clockspot.app account and its history stay exactly as they were. The page lists what to check next: employee names, roles, and pay details; jobs, clock locations, balances, and policies; then a test with one manager or employee before you invite the rest of your team. Choose Open imported workspace.
- 2:07Your people, pay, and jobs are already in place
- This is your new Clockspot workspace, signed in as the owner. Your business name and time zone are already set. To see the imported employees, select Manage employees and invitations. Everyone active in your current account is listed with the same roles: the owner, an administrator, and the employees. To check jobs and pay, open Settings from the menu on the left, then Jobs. Every active job is here with its code and phone code. The duplicate name from the preview now includes its job code, so the two stay distinct. Back in Settings, Employee Pay shows each person’s pay type, rate, and pay schedule, ready for payroll.

- Your setup is already in place: your people, their pay, and your jobs. Invite your team when you are ready. Until then, your clockspot.app account stays open and works as before.
Moving is optional. Your Clockspot.app account keeps working during and after the move, so you can look at your own preview and decide later.
Who can start the move
Only the owner of the Clockspot.app account. When the move is available for your account, a New Clockspot notice appears in the menu on the left after you sign in, and the same notice sits at the bottom of your Billing page with a See what would move button.
Preview your account
- Sign in to your company address on Clockspot.app as the owner.
- Open Billing from the menu on the left.
- Choose See what would move.
Clockspot opens a private preview of your account. The preview is read-only: nothing has moved yet, and the private link expires on its own after 30 minutes. The top of the page shows which account the preview is for and whether it is ready to import. If something must be fixed in Clockspot.app first, the page says so, and you cannot import until it is fixed.
The four counts are the active employees, jobs, clock locations, and time-off types that will move. Review these settings in your new workspace lists what will change or start fresh, for example:
- Two jobs with the same name are kept apart by adding the job code to one of them.
- A job phone code that the new phone clock cannot use starts blank.
- Approved browsers need to be approved again, and phone and kiosk PINs are reset for security.
- Inactive employees stay in your Clockspot.app archive.
Import your setup
Choose Import and start 30-day trial. Clockspot creates your new workspace, which is your company's account in the new Clockspot, from the active setup shown in the preview. It signs you in as the owner and starts a 30-day free trial. Your Clockspot.app account and its history stay exactly as they were.
The page then lists what to check next. Choose Open imported workspace to go to your new workspace.
Check the imported setup
- Your business name and time zone are already set.
- Employees lists everyone who was active in your current account, with the same roles: the owner, any administrators, and the employees.
- Jobs shows every active job with its code and phone code.
- Employee Pay shows each person's pay type, rate, and pay schedule.
Passwords, PINs, and device approvals start fresh in the new workspace. When you are ready, invite your employees so they can sign in. Until then, your Clockspot.app account stays open and works as before.
Common questions
- Do I have to move?
No. Clockspot.app keeps working, and nothing changes unless you decide to import. You can open the preview as many times as you like.
- What happens to my Clockspot.app account after I import?
It stays open with its history, so you can run both side by side while your team switches.
- Will my employees be contacted?
Not by the preview or the import. Employees hear from Clockspot only when you invite them from the new workspace.
- Can I import twice?
No. If you choose See what would move again after importing, Clockspot signs you back in to the workspace it already created instead of importing again.
