What this report shows
Daily Summary gives admins one day's operating view: employee status, completed work, open punches, observed time, scheduled time, location and job context, time off, pending edit requests, and cleanup items.
The main summary counts Exceptions, Clocked in, Observed, Scheduled, and Pending edits. The employee table shows Completed, Open, Observed, Scheduled, Variance, First / last, Jobs, Locations, and Issues for the selected date.
Additional sections appear only when there is matching data:
- Cleanup Items for blockers and warnings such as missing clock-outs, scheduled days with no time, unscheduled work, short scheduled days, long scheduled days, or pending edit requests
- Open Entries for employees still clocked in
- Time Off for recorded time off on that date
- Pending Edit Requests for correction requests waiting on review
Filters
Pick the date, then narrow with All employees, All jobs, or All locations. Today's Daily Summary refreshes while it is open; past dates are a point-in-time report for the selected day.
Reading observed time
Observed includes completed work plus open-punch minutes for day management. Completed worked minutes stay separate until the employee clocks out.
Exporting
Open the Export menu and choose Download CSV, Download Excel, or Download PDF. The export includes the daily employee rows plus cleanup, open-entry, time off, and pending-edit sections when those sections have data.
Common questions
- Why does Observed differ from Completed?
Open punches count toward Observed so managers can see the day in progress. They do not become completed worked time until the employee clocks out.
- Can this report tell me who arrived late?
No. Clockspot work schedules store expected minutes by weekday, not shift start and end times. Daily Summary shows scheduled-minute variance, but it does not infer late arrivals or early departures.
- Where do I handle pending edit requests?
Open Edit Requests to approve or reject the request. Use Time entries when an admin needs to review the underlying entry.
